Battery Recycling yes we can…….

This service is provided via Phoenix Battery Recycling – the country’s first end-to-end battery recycling service. Please put clear tape on the battery terminals before dropping them off to avoid the batteries from shorting.

We can accept:

• lithium-ion (used in laptops, mobile phones, tools)
• alkaline, dry cell and zinc (used in flashlights, radios, remote controls, smoke detectors)
• button cell/coin (used in watches, hearing aids)
• nickel-cadmium (used in portable electronics, tools, toys.

We can not accept:

• Currently we cannot accept damaged Lithium batteries.

Need to know:

• There is no cost to drop off your batteries to us as the scheme is subsidised by Porirua City Council.
• Drop off area is at the main Trash Palace site in the drop off area not at the Recycling facility
